Job Title: Maintenance Manager

This role is a critical role within our operations and will report to the Operations Director.

Salary: Starting salary commensurate with experience and qualifications

Location: This role will be based at Kilwaughter, Co. Antrim with some amount of travel to other sites

Role Purpose: As part of a highly successful business, this role will operate as a critical member of the Management team with responsibility for the reliability, availability, and efficiency of all plant and equipment. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians to deliver a safety-first culture, proactive, preventative maintenance culture, reducing downtime and improving overall equipment effectiveness. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical, problem-solving, and people engagement skills. You will work closely with operations to drive continuous improvement, cost savings, and compliance while fostering a culture of safety, continuous learning, accountability and ownership.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring maintenance activities contribute to zero harm.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and safety training for the team.
  • Develop a high-performance Maintenance team, achieved through coaching, mentoring and upskilling of the team in safety, proactive maintenance, diagnostics and problem-solving.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations and develop a strong customer focused culture.
  • Lead structured problem-solving initiatives (5-Whys, FMEA, Kaizen) to foster a problem-solving mindset and culture amongst the team, empowering them to take ownership and eliminate recurring issues.
  • Develop and implement training programs to upskill the team in diagnostics and best practices.
  • Increase equipment reliability, up-time and throughput by creating detailed documents and in collaboration with Production, implement and embed robust maintenance schedules that align with Customer needs, minimising disruption and reducing reactive breakdowns.
  • Establish and foster a culture of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving. Drive improvement initiatives in equipment performance, safety, and process reliability through implementing lean maintenance practices.
  • Develop strategies and consider technology and systems to achieve enhanced operational efficiency, optimisation of spare parts inventory and cost reductions.
  • Optimise spare parts inventory, reducing unnecessary costs without compromising reliability.
  • Ensure the department operates within budget while driving cost-saving initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Lead, track and report on key maintenance KPIs to identify trends and drive measurable continuous improvements to maximise plant availability, drive efficiencies and reduce maintenance-related production losses.
  • Be an ambassador for the company values and at the forefront of a culture of continuous improvement
  • Take on any other duties as directed by the Operations Director.

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience with 3 years gained in a People Leadership role
  • Experience within a Manufacturing environment
  • Heavy Plant Manufacturing
